Murray Bridge Races Review on 16th June 2025

The three-year-old gelding Caladan gave his co-trainers Richard and Chantelle Jolly the first bragging rights for the day when he took out the 1100 metre opening event on Murray Bridge on Saturday.

Making it two wins in a row the Jake Toeroek guided Caladan led all the way.

Any Luck kept up his good from of late when he took out the 2000 metre second race.

Prepared by Wayne Walters and having the services of his daughter Kate, Any Luck came from a midfield position to win by a very narrow margin.

The Phillip Stokes continued its good run in juvenile races when Matahga took out the Magic Millions Racing Rewards SA Two-Year-Old Plate of 1200 metres.

Having the services of Jacob Opperman and coming of a last start third Matahga came from a worse than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Co-trainers Richard and Chantelle Jolly brought up an early double when The sprinkler won the Thomas Farms Racing Rewards SA Three-Year-Old Plate which was run over 1200 metres.

Guided to victory by Lachlan Neindorf The Sprinkler  came from well back with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The three-year-old rising star gelding Sir Now brought up his third win In  a row when he took out the 1000 metre fifth race.

Winning his sixth race from twelve starts the Margaret Collett ridden Darryl Hewitt trained Sir Now raced in a forward position.

Being first up after a spell the former New Zealander Chance Taken gave trainer Chris Beig a win in the 1600 metre sixth race.

Continuing the good run of apprentice Felicity Atkinson Chance Taken raced in a better than midfield position before registering his first Australian win.

Strathalbyn trainer Phillipe Huserot was well pleased with the win of Stratum Pride in the 1600 metre seventh race.

Ridden by Taylor Johnstone who continued her good run Stratum Pride came from a worse than midfield position to take the event in a tight finish.

Apprentice Caitlin Tootell continued her good run of late when Maracourt took out the 1400 metre eighth race.

Trained at the Wellington track of Michael Hickmott Maracourt came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Lachlan Neindorf made it a double for the day when Extra Hot took out the 1200 metre ninth race.

Winning his second race in a row the Peter and Belinda Blanch trained Extra Hot was seen running on from a rearward position and went to the line strongly to win narrowly.

The combination of trainer David Jolly and hoop Justin Poter were well pleased with the win of Talkin' Italian in the 1200 metre final event.

Coming off a last start third at Morphettville Talkin' Italian came from well back to bring up win four from nineteen starts.
