Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 17.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Nowra and Ballarat.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 2 @ 12:50 PM
CELERITY (5) massive class drop today after going under narrowly when second over 1100m at Warwick Farm in a Super Maiden. Fitter now and brings superior ratings here. ALL SAINTS (3) heavily supported on debut when a fighting nose second to Ghielmi over 1000m at Kembla Grange last February. Fitted with a sharp 800m trial win and has each-way prospects. THE WAY AHEAD (9) fifth up today and has to improve further after chipping away late when fourth over 1000m at Goulburn. Winkers come off and can sneak into the minor money. NORDIC STAR (8) Nathan Doyle trained three-year-old filly by Star Turn on debut. Impressed in a small field when a slick 1000m trial winner at Beaumont. Stays in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Celerity to stamp her class.

NOWRA: RACE 6 @ 3:35 PM
HOPE AND GLORY (3) has not raced since scoring an easy win on debut over this distance at Moruya on 17 January. Four-year-old who has been brought along patiently. Likely improver over the break and can win again. DENI GAL (5) was five weeks between runs when a moderate sixth over this distance at Kembla last time out. Strips fitter and won't find this as tough so she is a definite contender. ARCTIC DESERT (1) is in career-best form. Made it two wins from three runs this prep when he just got the prize over today's trip at Wagga last time out. That run followed an eight-week let-up so there is improvement to come. HOLD (4) is back from a four-month spell. Has won twice from four attempts when resuming so expect her to be wound up to run well. MEDIA COVERAGE (8) is racing well and at his best over this trip. Can sneak into the top four.
SELECTIONS: Hope And Glory to remain unbeaten.
BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
GLAMOUR ANA (5) is in a leading metro barn and deserved her heavily-bet Ballarat Maiden win. Maps well, and Coffey is a key jockey switch. She's promising and is ready to take the next step. ATTABOOM (9) missed a whisker here in stronger and then came back and disappointed. He's on a 4-day return and will be fitter again. Good enough, and he gets another chance. ANGELONE (2) resumes and is proven fresh. Has his first go on the synthetic and has had three jump-outs. Likely to race well. NORDIC (3) resumes off a long break, but he's won this course/distance and will enjoy a soft on-pace run. The race-day betting will be key.
SELECTIONS: Backing Glamour Ana.
