Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 08.

Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Wyong, Sapphire Coast, Swan Hill, Sunshine Coast, Port Augusta, Northam, Hobart and Casterton.

WYONG: RACE 2 @ 12:40 PM

CUESTA (5) improving mare who finds her race third up. Surged late from last on the turn when a game second over 1200m at Kembla Grange. Brings superior ratings here and looks too good for these. OAKFIELD ZENA (9) assess on her good first up second at Gosford, after disappointing when last over 1400m at Newcastle. Failed to handle the conditions last start and was a month between runs. Gets the right run again and the firmer surface helps. PRINCE HARRISON (3) showed a ton of potential in his first prep, before resuming with a battling sixth over 1200m at Kembla Grange. Winkers go on and capable of improvement. INNCOURT (1) Irish bred gelding making his Australian debut for the Matt Smith yard. Two recent trials had merit after making his debut when fifth over 1609m at Leopardstown last year. No surprise to see him finish over the top of these. RAINBOW GODDESS (10) fitter now second up and finally drawn a decent gate. Each way.
SELECTIONS: Cuesta to shed her maiden status.

SAPPHIRE COAST: RACE 7 @ 4:10 PM

REMADOSI (4) looks ready to win again after an excellent effort at Parkes over this trip. Down in grade and sure to take plenty of beating. JOHNTIALJO (11) is fitter for two runs back and while still a maiden he'll get one sooner or later. Favourite in both runs and can't leave out. EVOKES (5) was an easy winner here two runs back then not disgraced at Goulburn last week. Must be included in the chances. DUBAI CENTRE (2) and GOODNIGHT BARLOW (6) are capable of showing up.
SELECTIONS: Remadosi to win.

SWAN HILL: RACE 9 @ 4:30 PM

Good race to finish the carnival and keen to be with COLOUR OUR WORLD (13) who was luckless last week at Caulfield in a strong 3yo race behind Madiyya. She drew barrier one and just never really got a crack at them as a $5 second elect. The fresh run was good and she's a promising filly with the ability to take this out. MUPPET (14) is going quite well of late and back to 1600m off a strong tempo should be suitable. Looks a solid each way chance. GIDDY UP WARRIOR (3) tried hard at Kilmore over this trip last time out, racing consistently overall of late. Tough draw but has claims. STOP THE ROCK (8) is lightly raced and will be much fitter from an even return at Cranbourne.
SELECTIONS: Colour Our World to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 10 @ 5:07 PM

Cracking contest to close out the card. STREAK OF WINNING (6) resumes but the form he displayed in his first preparation was very hard to fault. Looks to have plenty of upside and shapes as the hardest to beat following a few key scratching. BODY OF VENUS (16) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on. Closed off well to win at Port Macquarie last start and shapes as one of the main dangers. ESTRONDO (7) was good fresh before never in the race last start. Much easier here and has to be included. FIGHTING IDOL (1) closed off well late at Toowoomba last start and appears the best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Backing Streak Of Winning in his return.

PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM

ICHIBANSAN (4) stuck on gamely after pressing forward from a wide gate last time over the mile here, finishing a gritty second. Draws better here and looks ready to go one better. DOCTOR ROBERT (3) brings winning momentum, saluting narrowly last start over 1750m at Hawker. That made it two on the bounce, and with Sairyn Fawke sticking, the hat-trick is well within reach. OUR DESTRIER (2) continues to race consistently, following a monster win at this track with a narrow second to Doctor Robert last start. Has tactical speed and gives himself every chance. Right in this. UNISPHERE (6) came from well back to score impressively here last start. Steps up in trip but shoulders upside and must be respected. THE TRUE BELIEVER (5) is capable of a much better showing. Don't dismiss completely.
SELECTIONS: Ichibansan to win.

NORTHAM: RACE 7 @ 4:48 PM

CANTRIX (4) looks a nice filly on the rise and is well placed in this event. She flew home last start when snagged back under Watson, missing by 1.9L after an all-the-way win on debut. Up to 1300m isn't an issue and with plenty of improvement still to come, she can get back to winning ways. SHOWLAS (5) resumes today without a trial. She was very impressive to end last campaign, setting the tempo and proving tough to run down at Pinjarra prior to the break. 1300m first-up looks ideal and the 3kg claim has her right in the race. COULDHAVEBEEN (3) returns with one trial under his belt. He was good at Bunbury over 1400m first-up last campaign and while he has drawn wide, he's shown some speed in his career. Can put his best foot forward. ETERNAL ROMANCE (7) has been to the trials since a narrow debut win at Albany and there's no reason why she can't go on with the job. BIONDO (2) will be fitter for two trials coming in and can play a role.
SELECTIONS: Keen to be with Cantrix in the finale.

HOBART: RACE 4 @ 1:10 PM

SKELMORLIE (9) switched from a Victorian yard and has been busting to win on the synthetic. Her best turf figures are superior, and Darmanin is reunited. She looks ready to win. ZURICH (4) just missed here from the back and will be better for it. The longer sprint suits, and she will hit the line hard. ELLA MAY (6) resumes and has trialled well. She showed plenty her last preparation and will be naturally improved. She should get every chance. MAY WE ALL (3) will be better suited back in distance, and he missed 1L here three back. In the mix. MISS DELPHI (7) is an improver with a handy 2kg claim, and she can use an inside barrier. Keep onside.
SELECTIONS: Backing Skelmorlie.

CASTERTON: RACE 7 @ 3:35 PM

TROSETTEE (3) is in a sharp barn, and it is well placed to win. Has been within range in town both starts back and is still shy of his best. He's suited by the step up in trip. CLEITUS (11) was quickly back on track, blitzing the 58 graders at Hamilton by 4.3L, over a mile. Suited out to a middle distance and gets her chance with the 7.5kg weight drop. FLYING BASIL (5) won well this track/grade/trip and he always puts in. The form should see him right in the finish. CHIMED (9) resumes and is a capable galloper who owns a big trial win. It's an ask, but he can't be ruled out. ANY LUCK (6) races forward and deserved the 74 win at Mt Gambier. Has the inside barrier and should go well again.
SELECTIONS: Backing Trosettee.
