Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 06.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canberra, Dubbo, Swan Hill and Ipswich.
CANBERRA ACTON: RACE 5 @ 2:22 PM
SOUK (7) switched from a top Victorian stable and was beaten 1L here first up from the front. He's placed 5/7 and has the early speed to manage the wide gate. Strips fitter, and is sure to be tough to beat. ROUGE HOMME (5) resumed at Goulburn and looked a run short. He trialled well prior and just missed at Nowra, his only second-up outing. Quick improvement is anticipated. MISS INDI (8) is speedy and can show more third up. Keeps the small claim and draws inside. YINDYAMARRA (10) debuts and has won a trial here. Has ability, and the late betting will be key.
SELECTIONS: Souk appeals.

DUBBO: RACE 4 @ 2:00 PM
SPEEDY HENRY (2) classy gelding with a ton of upside who will take holding out here. Racing nicely through his grades and ticks plenty of boxes with the claim from the low draw. Blinkers go on and will prove hard to stop. HAMMERING AWAY (3) comes to hand quickly and has a nice record at this track. Battled away with the 59kg first up when a plugging fifth over 1200m at Parkes. Placed second up in the past and the extra distance helps. BADBOY MCCOY (7) kept fresh for this and some of his best performances have been over this track and trip. Covered plenty of ground in the run and was a spent force in the straight when eleventh over 1600m at Quirindi. No shock to see him take a hand in the finish. RUFUS WINRIGHT (6) holding his form well and drops sharply in trip after finishing a narrow third at Mudgee over 2000m. Will be running on late.
SELECTIONS: Speedy Henry to salute.
SWAN HILL: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
CARBONADOS (4) has been plainer his last two in stronger grade, but his effort at Geelong three back in this grade stands out. He's been kept up to the mark with a Flemington jump out and will position forward. This is winnable. DARTS DALY (9) missed a whisker in a Sandown-Hillside 70, spiking his figures. He tumbles in weight and just has to hold the form to feature. SASQUALAH (8) was quickly back to form, leading and winning a Casterton 70. She draws well, and Linda sticks aboard. She has plenty of scope for improvement. LUNA CAT (3) is a stablemate of the top selection and deserved her win in this grade at Terang. She tackled the Listed Wangoom following and didn't handle the heavy track conditions. She's been refreshed, and a bounce back isn't out of the question.
SELECTIONS: Backing Carbonados.
IPSWICH: RACE 3 @ 10:39 PM
KIWI SPIRIT (2) returned in fine fashion with a strong maiden win around this circuit and is sure to have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Winning rider Guthmann-Chester sticks in the irons and should be going very close again. The well-related ADRANOS (1) (half to G2 winner Tiamo Grace) is back from a lengthy spell but has revved up for this with two recent trials and gets Maloney back on board from the favourable draw. Can run a race while fresh. LA PETITE MAISON (3) is another resuming but has placed two from two around this circuit and is usually thereabouts. Top-three aspirations. Former Victorian REVALENE (4) will be much better after that first-up effort for the new stable and will find this easier than what he faced down south. In the mix. DASHING BASICS (6) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be ignored.
SELECTIONS: Kiwi Spirit to go back-to-back.
