Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Sandown, Muswellbrook, Moe, Penola, Kalgoorlie, Devonport and Port Hedland.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 6 @ 3:10 PM

Tough race. A few here could've been in the Australian Hurdle but stick to the flat. THROUGH IRISH EYES (6) is one, winning his maiden hurdle at Warrnambool in a thrilling battle with Stockman two back before a rock-solid effort in the Ramsden at Flemington. Up to 3200m suits him nicely. ALMA RISE (5) was in the market in the Ramsden but really struggled. She did beat Basilinna easily prior who ended up winning the Ramsden so we know she's good enough. DIWALI (10) and CABLE DANCER (8) have each way chances in an open race. GLENTANEOUS (1) was back in form in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes last start when finishing second. Stick with him.
SELECTIONS: Through Irish Eyes on top.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 5 @ 3:05 PM

PURPLE ROSE (9) finds her race third up on the quick back-up after finishing a creditable on pace third over 1200m at Goulburn in the heavy conditions. Gets the gun run again and should prove too good for these. LADY FELINA (12) failed to fire in two career runs and returns from a lengthy break. Fitted with two solid trials and look for her attacking the line late. STAR PREDICTION (1) comes here in peak condition and a win looks imminent. Stuck on well when back in trip for a handy second over 1300m at Scone. Capable of overcoming the wide draw and playing a leading role. JUSTICE WARRIOR (2) finished runner up at his first two runs back, before failing to finish off in the soft (7) going when sixth over 1100m at Hawkesbury. This is much easier and improvement expected. DEVINE CRUSADER (4) encouraging effort on debut and can surprise again at the each way price.
SELECTIONS: Purple Rose to shed her maiden status.

MOE: RACE 3 @ 11:35 AM

TASTE OF WINE (11) hasn't been far away in three career runs, the latest here at the mile. Still improving and off the inside draw should enjoy a soft run over the extra ground. REGAL LOVER (6) was fair fresh then hit the line powerfully second up to place. Should be at top now and the extra trip a plus. Hard to hold out. DANCING JUICE (1) was outclassed in town two back but the form either side is good enough for this. Kept coming over a similar journey latest and right in this again. NECK HIGH (3) has been runner-up last two over a mile and 1700m. Will press forward from out wide and give a sight over the longer journey.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Taste Of Wine.

PENOLA: RACE 4 @ 2:25 PM

SIR RANDOLPH (6) was a commanding winner at Oakbank over this trip and looks poised to repeat the dose. Drawn sticky but will be hitting his straps third-up and loses little in the saddle with Murtagh taking over. Leading player. THERMODYNAMIC (4) showed early dash when resuming and stuck on fairly into the placings. Fitter now and maps to be right in the thick of it again. Genuine threat. ALCOSHARE (2) has progressed nicely this campaign and is cherry-ripe fitness wise. The form out of his dominant win two back at Warrnambool is red-hot. Expect him to be in this for a very long way. MAGNETIC PRINCE (1) was only fair fresh in testing conditions and should take good benefit from that run. Fitter now and capable of sharp improvement. CAPTAIN JOOLIAN (3) doesn't win out of turn but boasts peaks that measure up. Worth some thought.
SELECTIONS: Sir Randolph gets the nod.

KALGOORLIE: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM

JUST SUBLIME (4) is a lightly-raced filly on the rise, flying home last start to just miss over 1200m. She was slowly away there and the rise to 1400m looks to suit with the senior jock hopping back on board. Expecting her to take closer order this time and bounce back to winning ways. MILITARY ACTION (5) stuck on well over this course and distance a fortnight ago to finish 2.1L off the winner. He was better in his prior efforts and a return to that form looks on the cards. Likely to get back but should be launching a strong attack late in the race. HAND ME DOWN (3) is on debut in WA after making the move from the McEvoy's. No trials to gauge, but he brings across some handy figures and some upside still to come. Worth including. ON JUST TERMS (6) can roll forward for Fiore and prove hard to run down in the straight. OUR SHILLAYLEIGH (2) was too good last start and can repeat the dose without surprising.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Just Sublime.

DEVONPORT SYNTHETIC: RACE 4 @ 1:40 PM

ANYWAYS ROXIE (1) is speedy and brings compelling form to resumption. She's proven fresh and owns a trial win. She's sure to take beating. BOLD INSTINCT (2) flies at this track and trip and delivered a 68 here last time from the front. Has winning claims holding that form. PERIWINKLE (5) runs along and didn't see out the longer sprint at Hobart. She was narrowly beaten at her two starts before and will present at peak fitness. Gets in well with the 2kg claim and placed her only start this course/distance. ARUMA (4) has been within range and wouldn't be out of it if things go her way.
SELECTIONS: Anyways Roxie appeals.

PORT HEDLAND: RACE 4 @ 3:30 PM

WARBY RANGES (3) switched from a leading Victorian yard and found one better here first-up. Followed with a big win this grade at Roebourne and has the inside barrier and handy 3kg claim. Rates to go on with the job. MATSOKA (2) led and won his maiden by a big margin on the same day. He's still shy of his best and is a decent chance to repeat the dose. SHE IS GOD (6) led and won her Maiden here by 4.3L, finding the competition much easier than Ascot. She can't be ruled out. SHINBONER (1) was plain here first-up when expected to win. Proved second up and benefits from a 4kg claim. Keep onside. BENFIN (4) may be next best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Warby Ranges.
