Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Gosford, Inverell, Hamilton, Pakenham and Cairns.

GOSFORD: RACE 5 @ 2:20 PM

FORMAL (1) in great form this time in and no surprise to see a rinse and repeat after smashing his rivals by 4 lens over 1000m at Wyong in the heavy conditions. Up slightly in weight and will relish Osmond's claim again from the inside gate. BODGIE (5) kept fresh and indicated he was back to his best when closing off strongly for a narrow third over 1100m at Wyong in this class. Fresh again and has an okay record at this track. CANAMBLE (4) gets down in the weights second up with the claim after gripping on late when fifth over 1000m at Dubbo. Up in class and worth more than a passing glance at the each-way odds. LEASE (3) tough old gelding resuming. Gets through the conditions and back without a trial. Minor money prospect.
SELECTIONS: Formal to win again.

INVERELL: RACE 7 @ 4:35 PM

The three main dangers to PAPPIANA (9) have been scratched which makes her task so much easier. Sat just off the speed but didn't do enough in the closing stages over the mile at Parkes last start. Won three back over today's journey at Tamworth. Eligible for easier races but this field has dropped right away and at the weights she comes out clearly on top. MEDDLESOME (8) was back in form here six days ago over today's trip, finishing third and just a couple of lengths from the winner. Might get a soft lead here after the withdrawals and should be peaking at the fourth run in from a spell. IMEZAAKI (1) is a recent acquisition for the Craig Clegg stable and resumes today. Not a noted first-up performer but his best form comfortably trumps anything dished up by the rest of this field. Must be respected. Ex-Ciaron Maher-trained BONFIDELITY (4) is back from a break. Lightly raced filly with more upside than most. NOTABADONE (11) is racing well and cannot be dismissed.
SELECTIONS: Pappiana to win the last.

HAMILTON: RACE 7 @ 6:00 AM

BARBIE'SDREAMWORLD (8) was outgraded at Group level in Adelaide, but missed 1L at Sandown-Hillside prior, before finding one better at Warrnambool as favourite, last time. She's back plenty in grade and goes wet and dry. Well-placed to go one better. CLEITUS (1) brought strong form to resumption, narrowly beaten at Terang. He was in the market against the above at Warrnambool following, and was slow to recover. Has Yendall aboard today, and he can get back on track. DUSTLAND FAIRYTALE (9) has needed the two runs this preparation in stronger. She is proven third up and has more in the tank. Has the inside barrier, and Kersley is a positive jockey switch. IDON'TGETIT (2) resumed in stronger and needed the outing. The step up to the mile suits, and he has a decent record second-up. He has a small claim and needs to be kept onside.
SELECTIONS: Backing Barbie'sdreamworld.

PAKENHAM: RACE 2 @ 5:15 PM

BAYOU MUSIC (1) looks nicely placed stepping up to 1400m off the back of a strong debut at Mornington over 1200m, finding the line nicely to grab second. By Street Boss, he'll relish this trip and draws for every chance. BELLA PIETRA (6) has placed in both starts to date, solid behind a potentially smart one in a rich Donald 2yo race. No issue rising in trip now and should take catching with Jamie Melham booked. CAELIUS (2) ran a much better race here last time out when finding the line well for second. Has been big odds in two runs to date but comes right under notice now. FLIGHT SERGEANT (4) is a colt by Russian Camelot for the Danny O'Brien yard who of course trained the sire to great success. He looks like he'll get over further but watch the betting. MOTHERDUCK (8) is a rough chance.
SELECTIONS: Bayou Music to win.

CAIRNS: RACE 8 @ 4:52 PM

LUCKY LENI (2) delivered the CL1 at Gordonvale building on the nose defeat here first-up. Four winners have come out of that, and the former Deagon-trained galloper can keep improving. Has decent claims at each-way odds. SUPER TWENTY THREE (4) went close twice before coming back in trip and delivering a CL3 win at the track as expected. The longer sprint won't bother, and the top jockey stays aboard. Draws awkwardly, but will likely push forward and should go close. MOEGREEN (6) resumes off a 55 win at Innisfail over 1500m. He was heavily bet and is likely to come back further improved. Needs a good ride, but the early market suggests he's pleasing. PENNYPACKER (1) seeks the hat trick. This looks tougher, but it's hard to knock the form.
SELECTIONS: Going with Lucky Leni each way.
