Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 28.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Doomben, Sale, Gawler and Pinjarra.
CANTERBURY: RACE 6 @ 3:55 PM
PESCHIERA (10) was dominant last start when leading throughout over 1400m at Sandown-Lakeside. Freshened since and drops back in trip but gets in light and retains upside. With Lloyd piloting, shapes as the one to beat. ONE DESTINY (1) was below his best last time but the prior efforts were full of merit. Back in grade and gets the right setup with the claim for Bourke. Can bounce back. KYEEMA (7) gets to peak fitness now and did enough last start to suggest he's ready to figure. Keep safe. TOES IN THE WATER (6) returns and has been readies with a sharp trial. Gets in well with the claim and can play a role.
SELECTIONS: Peschiera to win again.

DOOMBEN: RACE 2 @ 12:43 PM
Former NSW galloper MAKE A CALL (3) is having his first run for the new stable but wasn't disgraced in Group 3 level before the lengthy spell and will find this assignment much more to his liking. Tuned up for this with two recent trials and gets the deadly Gollan/Maloney combination. Can finally shed the maiden tag here. CLIODHNA MAEVE (5) resumes here but the form she has shown in previous campaigns is good enough to be competitive in this. Can run a big race while fresh. SIGLO DE ORO (4) has placed over this distance range and gets plenty of weight relief with the 3kg claim. In the mix. DARE TO LOVE (6) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Make A Call to break the maiden status.
SALE: RACE 6 @ 2:55 PM
Tipping SYMPHONY OF COLOUR (3) to bounce back third up. The first up run was good at Caulfield Heath in BM70 company before tackling a better class of 3yo race and struggling. Finds the right race here and on class she's just about got these covered. SIOUX SPIRIT (4) won well with a tough victory at Pakenham last time out. She can roll forward from a wide draw here and take catching again. A HIDDEN TREASURE (6) has found some form of late, winning two back and a close-up in second last time out. Only needs to hold that form to be a chance again. BONNIE AMORE (10) should be ready to improve third up off two sound runs this time in while MAMUNO (7) won well last time and can measure up.
SELECTIONS: Symphony Of Colour to win.
GAWLER: RACE 2 @ 2:00 PM
MISTER HOCKEY (7) was beaten 1L at Oakbank on debut and then border-hopped to Werribee, beaten 3L from the front over 1421m. That's good form, and he will present fitter and will use the inside barrier. 20% stable striker Toeroek is reunited. MAGIC MARINER (6) improved again, beaten 1.3L at Murray Bridge. Maps well and won't have to improve much to go close. MOUSSAKA (8) debuted in the same contest and battled on beaten 3.3L. Will improve off that and can get some of the better money. SANTELLA (9) debuts and has trialled well at Strathalbyn. Holder is a positive jockey booking, and he has to be kept safe. STRONG MINDED (3) resumes and showed enough on debut to consider.
SELECTIONS: Backing Mister Hockey.
PINJARRA SCARPSIDE: RACE 7 @ 3:59 PM
HOUSEWIFE (6) was impressive at the trials coming into this and the booking of Pike suggests she's ready to fire. She showed plenty of ability in her last campaign and the wide draw isn't an issue with her racing pattern. She's an exciting prospect and can resume on a winning note. ARCADIA PARK (1) looks to have plenty of upside after a handy debut campaign. He'll be fitter for two trials coming into this and he spent much of his last campaign in Saturday grade. The 3kg claim comes in handy and he's expected to be fighting out the finish. INSYDE SUCCESS (3) was only gunned down late at Ascot last start when racing in stronger company than this. He'll find this easier and while he hasn't won in a while, he looks to be right back to his best. Will be tough to run down. BARTIME (2) will need some luck from out wide, though he's a second-up winner in the past. Won't be far away. CHARLIE JANE (10) was solid first-up at York and has claims from an inside barrier.
SELECTIONS: Housewife looks the one to beat.
