Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 16.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Albury, Tamworth, Pakenham, Longreach and Alice Springs.
ALBURY: RACE 4 @ 2:15 PM
Plenty of chances. BOBOTOV (3) did his best work late to finish fourth when resuming over 1100m at Wodonga last start. Placed at four of five runs over today's journey, including two from two here. Gets a soft run from gate one and looks sure to be in the finish. TI TREE ROYAL (2) returned from a seven-month spell with a dominant all-the-way win over 1200m at Corowa a fortnight ago. Lightly raced three-year-old who looks ready to go to new heights this prep so stick with him. SUNDROP (9) found a Class 2 at Corowa a bit rich at her latest appearance but wasn't disgraced. Strong prospects coming back a level or two. ACE OF LACE (8) was brave in defeat at Corowa last time - should give plenty of cheek again. DARKLEY (1) was back in form last start and if he jumps better today can play a big role.
SELECTIONS: Bobotov looks a very nice each-way bet.

TAMWORTH: RACE 3 @ 1:55 PM
SEE YOU THEN (8) resumes after closing strongly on debut when a handy second over 900m at Scone last January. Returns without a trial and gets every chance from the draw with Small's 2kg claim. RUBILICIOUS (15) returns after having mixed luck last prep. Goes okay at this track and placed first up in the past. Fitted with a narrow trial placing over 1000m at Scone. Keep safe. REMBROY (13) resumes from a lengthy break on his home track. Races best with his runs spaced and senior rider booked. No excuses from the draw. NORBOWS LEGACY (12) filly by Churchill from Norbows Delight on debut. Has the right profile to figure in the finish.
SELECTIONS: See You Then on top.
PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM
DURNESS (9) may be worth another chance having been heavily supported on debut at Geelong to start $2.30 favourite, not really firing there when finishing near the tail. Up in trip now and gets blinkers on, expecting she's a sharp improver for a top barn. TEAM HEIST (11) is going well without quite breaking through, coming back from 2000m to 1500m last start at Mornington and sticking on solidly for third. Maps for a nice run here and should take some beating. TASTE OF WINE (10) has been around the mark in four runs to date, perhaps not seeing out the 2088m at Moe last time. The form prior has her firmly in the mix. DESERT ROSE (8) ran a much improved race over this route second up and any further improvement has her as one of the hardest to beat. BROTHER QUICKIE (2) is the full brother to multiple G1 winner Mr Quickie who did enough fresh off a long spell and should be improved.
SELECTIONS: Durness to win.
LONGREACH: RACE 3 @ 2:42 PM
DAICOS (3) grows a leg for hoop Missen who has five wins from as many steers and is racing with a lot of confidence of late. Has won three from four around this circuit and maps perfectly from the inside stall. Rates the testing material. BALDASSARE (1) is a consistent conveyance who has hit the top-four in 11 of his past 12 outings. Is usually thereabouts and can play a role in the outcome. MORE THAN A STAR (7) was a touch disappointing last time out but the form prior was good enough for a race like this. Gets some weight off from the low draw and must be included in calculations. WINDOW TAPPER (8) is having her first run for the new stable and any market support must be noted. CHIEF MONDO (9) is on the doorstep of another victory and shouldn't be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Daicos to win again.
ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 4 @ 4:11 PM
DEPENDENCY (3) has had 19 cracks at the track without breaking through, yet this might just be the weakest race she's found yet. Was less than 3 len off the winner at last start, and a repeat performance would have her winning this by lengths. Clearly the one to be with. PICCADILLY HERO (4) looks better placed today off a freshen, although suspect she'd want to find a few lengths on what we've seen so far. Each-way hope. HEBEL (1) likely sets the pace and will take catching if the others let her get away with things up forward. SABIE FALLS (5) just made up the numbers last time but this is easier and she might fall into the top three. IVOR GOOD ONE (2) likely to struggle.
SELECTIONS: DEPENDENCY would want to be winning this, and today looks to be her day.
