Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 22.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Goulburn, Pakenham, Ballarat, Rockhampton and Pinjarra.
GOULBURN: RACE 2 @ 12:50 PM
TACT (1) has come back much stronger this prep and indicated another win was imminent when a narrow fifth in the Wagga Guineas over 1600m at Wagga. McEvoy sticks from the better gate and will take catching. JOHNNY SMASH (2) bounced off his good minor placing two back with a game maiden victory over 1600m at Wyong in the heavy (9) going. Will roll forward again and give plenty of cheek. ANNOINT (5) up in trip after almost a month off when an improving second over 1500m at this track. Strips fitter and has the figures to take this out. KAHRABA (4) sharp drop in weight third up and comes out of a decent race after running eighth over 1500m here. Can race a little closer today and improvement is anticipated.
SELECTIONS: Tact to win.

PAKENHAM: RACE 3 @ 5:45 PM
NEVERENOUGHLEGO (4) stuck on well first up at Caulfield Heath over 1000m, beaten under two lengths in what looks a handy race. He showed promise against strong opposition in two runs last time in and looks suited getting to 1200m from a soft draw with Shinn on. BERMONDSEY (2) resumes for the Reece Goodwin yard. He tackled a pair of good races in his maiden campaign and was close up on both occasions. Should take beating. VEOMAS (7) resumes. He was well supported on debut at Listed level but struggled and was well beaten. Can be a quick improver this time around. PLANET RED (6) is a gelding by Admire Mars on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard who have an outstanding record with newcomers here. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Neverenoughlego to win.
BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM
The speedy TOCHKA (6) built on the 58 win with a near miss at Cranbourne this trip/level. She tried to go one better there following, but folded up badly (vet cleared). Meech takes over from the apprentice and will run her along. In the right stable and is worth another chance. JUST REMEMBER IT (3) prepared well and resumed for the new stable with an easy Pakenham Maiden win. He impressed and will strip fitter. Coffey will give him every chance from an inside barrier. MORNING DARLING (1) resumes and has raced well on this surface. He's been off the scene for a while but has jumped out well. Proven fresh and keep him very safe. COSMIC RHAPSODY (7) resumes and has jumped out positively at Donald. Has the blinkers on again and looks capable of getting some minor cash.
SELECTIONS: With Tochka.
ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 7 @ 4:50 PM
HEY JEALOUSY (7) switched from a Victorian stable and belted the Mackay Maidens by 4L. She was on a 17-day turnaround and was backed off the map. Draws for a soft run and can go on with the job. GILBERT'S GOLD (1) won a trial by a space and then resumed with a solid effort here in a 60. He goes well second up and keeps the handy 3kg claim. He'll race forward and can improve into the finish. TAHKIAN BUBBLES (6) has been around the mark since her win in this grade at Thangool. Gets in well with the 3kg claim and will get every chance from an inside barrier. QUARTERSHARE (3) had been thereabouts before struggling last time when seventh over 1200m at this track. Can bounce back.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Hey Jealousy.
PINJARRA: RACE 7 @ 3:10 PM
ELEGANT INDI (9) stormed home in slick splits to score at Northam as favourite, getting the job done by 1.1L. Back to the 2000m journey today but that doesn't look an issue and Pike remains in the irons. Showed plenty of class last start and with more upside to come, she can go bring up back-to-back wins. STARWALKER (7) steps up to this trip for the second time in his career and was a winner at his only attempt over this trip. He was just too far back to threaten last start at Northam as favourite, but the form out of that race has already been franked. Can get back to winning ways. BEEJAY BOY (4) finished 2.8L off the winner at Northam when behind Starwalker last time out, but is a course and distance winner earlier this preparation. Cooper's claim comes in handy at he's right in the mix on recent performances. CHANTEL (5) is knocking on the door in recent efforts and should be thereabouts once again. DO IT RIGHT (8) won't be far away if he runs up to recent efforts.
SELECTIONS: Elegant Indi can go on with the job.
