Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A few of these look ready to win, chief among them (1) DOUBLE NINE, who enters off a close 3rd at this distance on May 3rd when he led for most of the way. He draws very well to lead again, CC gets on abord for the first time, and he can win. (4) JEULGEOUN SANGSANG was one of a couple of these who finished ahead of Double Nine back in February and comes in following a 2nd place at 1300M on May 10th. He was well beaten by a good winner and in this company can sit handy to the speed and finish strongly. (5) EAST SKY has a 2nd and a 3rd from his latest two – the former beating both Double Nine and Jeulgeoun Sangsang – and he can be in the mix again. (6) BURUI SEGYE and (2) SEMYEONG GHOST the other place chances.

Selections (1) Double Nine (4) Jeulgeoun Sangsang (5) East Sky (6) Burui Segye

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only in this maiden. (8) ALIFER took a couple of goes to figure things out but has a 3rd and a 4th from her latest two, both at this distance and both times racing just behind the speed. In this company, she should be on pace again and has as good a chance as any. She will need to overturn the form on (6) SWITCH POWER, who was 3rd to Alifer's 4th on May 10th. While yet to finish in the top two, Switch Power has five top five finishes and should be close again. (10) GOLD CATCHER was a fair 4th over 1200M on debut in April and stripping fitter and stepping up slightly in trip, may make for some interest at an each-way price. (7) YEOMYEONGUI SUNGAN and (9) CHEONGHAE STAR others to consider.

Selections (8) Alifer (6) Switch Power (10) Gold Catcher (7) Yeomyeongui Sungan

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(9) WESTERN GUN was an also-ran in Seoul's Classic Trial in February, after which he was moved stables and following almost two months out, returned for a front-running 2nd at this class and distance on April 19th. That Classic Trial was the only time he has missed the top two over 1400M and with Moon Se-young staying on, he can return to winning ways. (1) MINT PLAY got her maiden win at the twenty-fourth time of asking at this class and distance May 5th racing on pace throughout. She comes up 2.5kg in weights but shouldn't be dismissed from a good draw. (4) LOTUSMIREU is yet to win in eighteen tries but recent form reads well with a last start 2nd, and she should be there or thereabouts again. (6) CHEONGONGUI SEOM hasn't raced since winning at start three last September, but he looked well winning a trial a month ago and he should be on pace and in this a long way. (10) SWEET SONG another on the hunt.

Selections (9) Western Gun (1) Mint Play (4) Lotusmireu (6) Cheongongui Seom

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(1) MUNHAK BELL is yet to score in four attempts but has a 2nd and two 3rd place finishes, all over this distance. That has earned him a rating and brings him up in class, but he is down in weight, he draws well and today can be his day. (6) FLYING LION took thirteen goes to get her breakthrough but she seemed to enjoy it as just two starts later she got another, the latter at this class and distance on May 3rd when settling midfield and running on. She comes up 2.5kg in weight but a repeat can't be ruled out. (9) MG FIRST led for much of the way around over 1400M last time out, ultimately coming home in 3rd. That was back in February so he comes in after seventeen weeks off and while up in class, he is down in weight and can measure up. (10) CAPTURE and (3) CHROMITE others in line for the minors.

Selections (1) Munhak Bell (6) Flying Lion (9) MG First (10) Capture

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) DRAGON GATE broke through at the sixth time of asking at this class over 1700M on May 10th. That win had been coming as in his previous two appearances, he registered a 2nd and a 3rd at this distance and while up 3.5kg in weight, he gets another crack at class 4 and should be too good. (8) SPLENDID had a hard time in Seoul's Classic Trial and then in the KRA Cup Mile, but he was a winner when returned to shallower class 5 waters over 1700M on May 11th. He is up in class but down in weight and he can measure up here. (2) LONDON VICTORY has a 4th and a 3rd from his latest two and he should be there or thereabouts again. (5) ARCH MEMORY and (1) BAEKRYONG, 2nd and 5th respectively at this class and distance on May 4th others in the frame.

Selections (4) Dragon Gate (8) Splendid (2) London Victory (5) Arch Memory

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) PASA KING has won his latest two, most recently at this class and distance on May 3rd when sitting handy and running on to beat three of today's rivals. That brings him up a full 5kg in weight, but he can win again. (5) CAMP DAVID got the closest to him that day, leading inside the home straight and ultimately finishing just half a length back. He too comes up in weight but has been in good form in three outings back since a lengthy absence and he can keep it going here. (2) MYUNGJINBULLPAI was 3rd in that race continuing a run of consistent form and while again, she is up in weight, she can be in the mix, probably coming from off the pace. (8) INFINITE HONOR was 4th and that day and can match it but if you prefer an option who didn't go in the May 3rd race then (1) ÉCLAIR POWER, last start notwithstanding, is probably the best.

Selections (4) Pasa King (5) Camp David (2) Myungjinbullpai (8) Infinite Honor

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) LEMON K won three in a row between January and March but hung out badly in the early and middle stages on her first try at this class over 1200M on April 26th. She got sent back to a trial, which she came through with flying colours two weeks ago and while she is up to 1400M for the first time, if she minds her manners, she has every chance. (7) GOLDEN DRAGON comes in off three solid recent efforts at a mile with a 2nd place the best of them. He raced on pace all three times so may appreciate cutting back in trip and while he is top-rated in the field, which is reflected in his weight, he can be a danger. (2) STUNNING QUEEN returned from three months out to weaken after leading at this distance on April 19th. She should strip fitter for that run and can get closer. (4) NAEGILUI YEOJEONG and (6) MISS CONCORD are the other place chances.

(3) PALO ALTO was an also-ran in the Luna Stakes, the first leg of the Triple Tiara, before returning to Seoul to win at this class and distance on May 4th, making all. She would have easily got into Sunday's Gyeonggi Governor's Cup but she goes here instead and despite the 4kg weight rise, she will be favoured to win. (5) EXCELLENT MATTA finally got her maiden win at the nineteenth time of asking over this distance on May 10th, leading every step of the way. She comes up in class but will be on pace again and can be competitive. (7) BRIGHT KAI was 3rd behind Palo Alto on May 4th and with a big weight swing can be closer. (2) BLACK SPECTER and (4) RAON JEWELSTONE other place chances.

Selections (3) Palo Alto (5) Excellent Matta (7) Bright Kai (2) Black Specter

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

After running 4th on debut, (3) NICE FORCE has since scored back-to-back wins over 1200M, leading all the way both times. He comes up in class for the first time, but he is down 3kg in weight, and from a good gate he can potentially complete his hat-trick. (11) HAKSAN SPEED also enters on a hat-trick having won his latest two, both at this distance. He is also up in class but down in weight and while he has the challenge of the widest gate, can be a danger here. (2) SPARK THUNDER was a 27/1 winner at this class and distance on April 27th and while he gets 3kg for that, he warrants more respect this time from a good draw. (1) BLOOMING STAR and (5) WHIZ CAMPAIGN others to consider.

Selections (3) Nice Force (11) Haksan Speed (2) Spark Thunder (1) Blooming Star
