WARWICK FARM May 13

Inside Grass; Soft 6

14 Heats – 3 x 1200m (2 Open; 1 Maiden); 4 x 790m (3 Open; 1 2YO); 4 x 787m (4 2YO); 3 x 783m (3 Maiden)

Pleasing trials from the Group One stars KIMOCHI and PRIVATE EYE have them ready for their Brisbane campaigns.

KIMOCHI was too classy for her rivals in the fastest of the three 1200m heats (73.36; 35.41) in her first trial since she failed in the All Aged Stakes last month. She had an issue after that race and it was good to see her work strongly, sitting second outside the lead and responding well when called on to stride clear to score by more than two lengths. ICEBREAKER, a good staying prospect, took the eye with his closing fourth.

PRIVATE EYE had his second trial since December with impressive late work in his 790m heat. He finished sixth, three lengths behind ELLIPSIS (46.97; 33; 68), after Nash Rawiller rode him quietly at the rear before easing widest on the turn. It was only over the last 100m that he slipped the G1 winner some rein with his work through the line hard to miss.

The Wagga Cup winner FLYING BANDIT had an easy time in his 1200m heat but his strong work over the last 200m was all he needed to keep up his fitness levels for coming targets. The Joe Pride stablemates WEEPING WOMAN and HEADLEY GRANGE were other talented performers to impress with their late work in their 790m heats.

In the four 2YO trials over 787m the heat winners ALBANY ROAD (47.11; 34.32); POINT SCORE (46.72; 34.24); LOERA (46.63; 34.64) and ANDHE'S BRAVE (46.09; 33.69) all led their heats to record clear cut wins. Other youngsters that took the eye included CENTRAL COAST, KILBRANNAN and JARRITO.

Godolphin's Exceed And Excel filly CELERITY was the pick of the maiden heat winners over 763m (46.23; 33.68). She's been placed twice in four starts but has not been easy to train with three well-spaced trials since her last race start last September. The runner-up in her heat CROSS TASMAN is an unraced Super Seth colt with a bright future.
