I would have liked to see him perform better first-up as he was so well placed there. This is a much stronger race and although he will probably be fitter I am doubtful he is going as good as he has in the past.
FEDERER is lightly raced and resuming for her 2nd prep and while she did impress with 2 wins, this looks a completely different set up to what she faced last time in work. The potential she has to race on a heavy track is somewhat of an unknown and the inside barrier potentially sees her shuffled back on the rails. Feel she is certainly a runner to follow going forwards, but with this set up first-up, I am against her at the price as favourite.
Flemington: Race 1; #5 Goldenstatewarrior
Bold Soul was given very little winning hope at Caulfield last week, is on his second consecutive seven-day back-up and surely won't settle last again. Against Goldenstatewarrior, who I think goes better on top of the ground, comes through a poor rating race and has now had a month between runs.
