The Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup and Queensland Derby headline a strong nine-race card at Eagle Farm this weekend.

Racing is really starting to heat up in the Sunshine State this Saturday with the running of the $1 million Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup and Queensland Derby and a stack of Group and Listed races filling out the program.

Our best of the day comes up in the $200,000 Group 3 Lord Mayor's Cup in the form of Tavi Time out of the Kris Lees yard. 

This son of Tavistock has always shown plenty of ability and put it all together when saluting in the Scone Cup last time out. 

Steps up to the 1800m on the weekend where he has placed two from two and will be ready to peak now fourth-up from the spell. 

Gets J Mac on and maps well from a favourable draw and currently shops around the 6-4 quote. With a couple of early scratchings there only appears to be one or two dangers and trust that the champion hoop gets the best out of this five-year-old.

Our value play comes up in one of the Group 1 features, the Kingsford Smith Cup, with us siding with the three-year-old colt Bosustow from Team Archibald. 

He couldn't have been more impressive saluting by a whopping six length margin in the Gold Coast Guineas and will have derived a bunch of confidence from that dominant victory. 

Granted, he strikes a much stronger field this time around, but looks to have plenty of upside and is another drawn perfectly in gate four. 

Has a good affiliation with rider Josh Parr and a 1W by 3P type wager could reap some dividends.
