THOROUGHBREDS
Duchess Zou wasn't particularly well supported on debut and was beaten by a horse who started $201 and $31 in two runs at it's first preparation. They did gap third who has won since but it won the worst maiden known to man at Cranbourne. I can see why she is second favourite but I'm happy to oppose her and have Rhia on side.
Canterbury: Race 7; #6 Bluepinot
Not huge on the set up for BLUPINOT in this race today. While he has produced his highest rated run on a heavy track, it is the race map in the big field that is the concern. Drawn wide and likely to be back in the run, on this track it is likely he has to race for luck to find a run in the straight which may land him in the inferior ground and that is the risk. Fitter now rising in trip 4th up but may need luck.
Doomben: Race 3; #4 Brutal Advance
He's been narrowly beaten in both runs this prep, but has had his chance in both. He now finds a fairly deep metro race, and although he's drawn well with Craig Williams aboard, I can't get him this short.
Doomben: Race 8; #4 Headhunter
Can run well but I am against it from the barrier I feel it will be too difficult to overcome first-up.
GREYHOUNDS
The Meadows: Race 4; #8 Snitch Adams
Snitch Adams is suited by the slightly smaller field but I would much prefer him drawn inside. His racing pattern seems to have changed, early on he looked like a stayer in the making but in recent weeks it seems 450m sees him out, happy to take him on.
