The Coronation Cup is G1 over 2400m and has 7 runners headed by French raider Calandagan on 4/5 for Graffard-Barzalona.  He's from the late Aga Khan's stud and has done very well at home and also ran second in the Sheema at Meydan.  However this is his first experience of Epsom.

The Irish St Leger winner Jan Breughel also ran a second recently at the Curragh and is on 7/2 for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore.  And then there's Giavelotto for Botti-Oisin Murphy on 9/2 and he was fifth in the Sheema.

The Oaks is over 2400m and there are 9 runners headed by the 1000 Guineas winner Desert Flower who is unbeaten.  She's by Dubawi and while some have questioned the trip Appleby-Buick will have her fully prepared for this and we think she may just get the better of Whirl, a Wootton Bassett filly with Aidan O'Brien and this time Wayne Lordan rides as Ryan Moore has opted for the stablemate Minnie Hauk with both on 9/2.  Elwakeen was supplemented for the race so they must have great expectations and she is on 9/1.

Saturday's card starts with the Princess Elizabeth G3 for f&m over 1700m and 11 run.  It's quite open with Royal Dress on 4/1, Bright Thunder 5/1 and one which we may put some of the hard-earned on is the 3yo Bermuda Longtail who gets the weight advantage.  A bit of a roughie here is Skellet, a lightly raced filly with Beckett-Rossa Ryan.

The Diomed is G3 over 1700m and 9 run headed by Docklands on 2/1.  German raider Geography from Peter Schiergen's stable is on 6/1 with Soumillon booked for the ride and there's another Andrew Balding 3yo here in Royal Playwright on 10/1 with Oisin Murphy riding the Jeff Smith owned colt.

The Derby itself is over 2400m and this year is to be run in honour of the late Aga Khan IV who did so much for racing.  There are 19 runners and on paper it seems to be between the Coolmore Delacroix and the Godolphin Ruling Court.  Both are lovely horses and it's difficult to separate them but we are going to stay with Delacroix here.  Others that come into consideration are Pride of Arras on 5/1, the Lion in Winter 7/1 and the French raider Midak who comes from the Aga Khan's estate and is an exciting prospect having won his three starts to date but Epsom is a tough nut to crack.  He could be worth the each-way on 14/1.
