The first of these was the Lion Rock Trophy over 1600m which saw our roughie Pray For Mir win for Cody Mo and Matthew Chadwick. Chancheng Glory had kept with the winner in the straight but the weight difference plus and extra spurt put Pray For Mir's number top of the frame. Beauty Eternal on 18.0 was third.

A few got bumps in the start including the winner and post race Johannes Brahms was found to have blood in the trachea so will have to have a holiday and then pass a fitness test,

The Sha Tin Vase was almost as sure a thing as you can get with Helios Express holding the front from Invincible Sage 20.0 and the third spot going to Patch of Theta, who was a bit unlucky with the traffic problems in the run and his start wasn't the best either. Licky Sweynesse took fourth.
