The three Group races provided some exciting racing starting in the Palais-Royale G3 over 1400m.
Topgear took control of the race for Cristopher Head ad Stephane Pasquier and inflicted a defeat on the talented Sajjir winning by 11/4 lengths with King Gold a similar distance away in third. Lake Forest was not disgraced in fourth and will profit from the outing.
The Prix d'Ispahan saw Sosie, who had only been supplemented the previous Thursday, become only the second horse this century to win the Ganay-Ispahan double, with the other winner of the double being the wonderful Cirrus des Aigles. Sardinian Warrior did well to take second not too far away and then there was a big gap back to Horizon Dore in third. Alcantor was scratched so only six runners.
The Vicomtesse Vigier saw a finish worthy of the race's new status when Candelari under a patient ride from Clement Lecoeuvre storm away at the finish to win by 3 ½ lengths from Sevenna's Knight with Pressage Nocturne 7/1 third.
Over in Dusseldorf the 105t German 1000 Guineas went to Lady Ilze who enjoyed an excellent ride from Adrie de Vries to win on 10/1 for Andreas Wöhler. She's by Territories and finished a length ahead of French raider d'Ores et Déjà with Place Fontenay third on 18/1.
