It won't be tropical and there may be the odd shower or two or three…
But after all it is Ireland and the sun may make a guest appearance on Sunday.
Things start to get rolling on Friday with the G3 Gallinule Stakes for 3yos over 1000m with 6 runners and the going looks like being Good.
Aidan O'Brien's Shackleton and is a Camelot with Ryan Moore riding and they are on 3/2. Johnny Murtagh saddles Reyenzi, owned by the estate of the late Aga Khan. Ben Coen has the ride on the Saxon Warrior product and they are on 10/3.
Saturday is 2000 Guineas Day and Field of Gold is looking for redemption here having just been beaten in the English version. He's with the Gosdens and the much discussed jockey change will see Colin Keane in the irons on the son of Kingman. We like Hotazhell who is of course by Too Darn Hot and is with Jessica Harrington and will be partnered by her stable jockey Shane Foley. They are on 9/1 which looks like value. The O'Brien runner here is Officer on 11/2 with Ryan Moore riding, He's by Dubawi and looks a very consistent proposition.
Earlier there's the Greenlands G2 over 1200m and here we like Iberian for Charlie Hills and Jason Watson. We don't have any prices as yet so we are winging it a bit and will put in My Mate Alfie for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane and Lethal Levi for Burke-Lee. All three are course and distance winners.
Sunday starts off with the Marble Hill G3 for the 2yos over 1200m and these babies have not had much racing experience at this stage. O'Brien's Albert Einstein is a promising Wooton Bassett and at the time of writing we have neither prices nor jockeys. Stablemate First Approach is by No Nay Never and so far ticking all the right boxes and then son Joseph will saddle Andab, an Al Shaqab runner. He's by Saxon Warrior and has a clean card so far after one race.
The Lanwades Stud G2 is for f&m over 1600m and here we welcome back our darling Porta Fortuna. She is with Donnacha O'Brien and could well start favourite here. Peter Twomey saddles One Look and Henry de Bromhead Rubies From Burma who probably will go into our multiples.
The Gold Cup is over 2100m and is G1 with 12 runners. We don't as yet have the jockeys for this but at least we have some prices and these show that Los Angeles from Aidan O'Brien's stable is on 6/4. JJ Murphy has White Birch who snuck under the radar a couple of times last year and is on 9/4 here and Andrew Balding is bringing Kalpana to raid this and they are on 9/2.
The 1000 Guineas G1 is over 1600m and has a field of 14 headed by the O'Brien Lake Victoria on evens. Yes she's by Frankel and may take a bit of time to get fully there but her run in the UK version wasn't ultra impressive and we'd like to see a more generous price in order to part with the hard-earned.
Ollie Sangster has two promising fillies here – Flight who is by Siyouni and on 4/1 and Simmering who we like a lot on 7/1. Another Too Darn Hot. Dermot Weld has Swelter who is not by Too Darn Hot but by Kingman and they are also on 4/1.
