Lead Artist won the Lockinge.
Starting on 17/2 Lead Artist upset the more favoured runners and collected the money in the Lockinge, with Oisin Murphy riding for the Gosdens.
Dancing Gemini was close by to take second with Ryan Moore saying after that the very fast ground may not have helped his mount's cause. Favourite Rosallion was third and there is the prospect of all three and Godolphin's Notable Speech who finished fourth meeting up again at Ascot probably in the Queen Anne.
Mega upset in the German 2000 Guineas.
At Cologne on Sunday the 2000 Guineas went to a filly – Matilda.
She's by Soldier Hollow and was having only her second start, having won on debut. Her trainer is Yamin Alemennader and she was ridden by Frida Valle Skar so it was an "all girls" effort. The 2000 Guineas is open to 3yo fillies as well as colts, and she beat a colt Ciaron on 13/1 by 6 ½ lengths. Dhitjari was third for Schiergen-Vogt on 4/1 and the top three in the market finished 8th, 7th and 6th!
