A chilly, rain slicked morning gave way to strong gallops at Champ de Mars. Shah Akbar led the charge, Port Louis trialled with a tongue tie, and Nordic Prince hit top gear.
Weather Conditions
It was another chilly morning at the Champ de Mars, with the strong anticyclone still affecting our region. Light rain fell during the first part of the session, but the skies eventually cleared, allowing the sun to make a welcome appearance towards the end.
Fast Workouts
Trainers Vincent Allet, Ramapatee Gujadhur, Rameshwar Gujadhur, Selvom Mootien, and Vicky Ruhee sent their strings out for fast work. A few horses from Samraj Mahadia's yard were also seen galloping.

- · Shah Akbar and Grand Vision were the first pair on track, with Shah Akbar asserting his dominance in the home straight.
- · The filly Wugug partnered with Zil Moris for a 1000m workout, with both horses showing good acceleration in the closing stages.
- · Several horses from Selvom Mootien's yard completed two laps, with Royal Sovereign impressing thanks to a sharp turn of foot going uphill.
- · Tipped to line up in the Duchess of York Cup, Port Louis was fitted with a tongue tie this morning. He paired with newcomer Join The Dots and clearly had the upper hand over 1000 metres.
- · The Rameshwar Gujadhur yard continued to catch the eye: The Gatekeeper, Elmo, Willie John, and Captain Lannister all produced strong solo gallops. Meanwhile, Havana Moon worked alongside Kaisarissa, and pulled away in the uphill stretch.
- · Itsrainingwilliam, consistently impressive throughout training, comfortably outpaced The Mauritian, who sported both side-winkers and a tongue tie for this workout.
- · Nordic Prince clocked a sharp solo effort over 1000 metres, indicating that he's reaching peak condition.
- · New recruit for Vicky Ruhee, Master Of Mystery, continued his progress towards race fitness. He teamed up with Gonnabealright for a smooth 800m workout.
