The MTC Jockey Club is organising a crucial dry run this Saturday, 26th July, ahead of the highly anticipated opening day of the 2025 racing season, scheduled for Saturday, 2nd August at the Champ de Mars.

Over the past several days, the entire MTCJC team has been working tirelessly to prepare for the return of turfistes, eager to resume their favourite sport after a long break. This dry run holds great significance offering a final opportunity to carry out logistical and organisational adjustments while testing systems under near-race day conditions.

On Saturday, technical elements and race procedures will undergo final validation across both general operations and race protocols, ensuring optimal fluidity on D-Day.

With a tight-knit team and clear awareness of the expectations surrounding this revival, MTCJC remains fully committed to delivering a seamless experience.

Scheduled for the day are four mock races, designed to test the full range of race-day infrastructure, including timing systems, photo finish equipment, starting procedures, official announcements, media coverage, spectator flows, and interdepartmental coordination involving veterinary teams, security, officials, commissioners, and more.

This life-size rehearsal will also provide key stakeholders trainers, jockeys, technicians, operators, and ground staff with an essential briefing on their roles within this refreshed operational framework.

The date is firmly set for this Saturday a pivotal moment in the MTCJC's drive towards a season filled with promise, passion, and renewal.

Visitors will also get a first look at a fully reimagined racecourse experience, complete with upgraded stands, refreshed dining spaces, and a brand-new family zone featuring a welcoming food court for all ages.

  • Throughout the day, important information will be shared regarding the event's organisation. The MTCJC counts on the cooperation of all turfistes and kindly asks that all attendees follow guidance from on-site officials and staff who will be present to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
