WESTERN BULLDOGS v HAWTHORN
Thursday 5 June @ Marvel Stadium
Looked an excellent match to begin the round a few weeks ago and yet one side has lost 2 of the last 3 and the other, 3 of the last 3.
The Bulldogs are off the bye and did play pretty darn well down at the Cattery last time.
Their scoring potential has been surprising given some of the outs, especially big Darcy.
Now they come back home albeit their style seems suited to all venues. Maybe it won't suit Hawthorn though.
Match | Western Bulldogs | Hawthorn | Ground |
Last time they met | 9.8 [62] | 14.15 [99] | MCG |
Last 10 matches | 5 wins | 5 wins
Notes | Last meeting was the Elimination Final last year.
Hawthorn has won the last 3 and the Bulldogs the 3 before that. |
The Hawks had their chances early at the MCG when Collingwood just went on with the job from just before half time.
They couldn't withstand which isn't unusual given the Pies current form lines.
Hawthorn has lost their dare and flair. Tackling is not high either. They need some pressure gauges on the up.
That said they have won 6 of their last 7 at Marvel but what you need to consider is many of those have been weaker opposition.
You can imagine the Hawks will be one of a number of sides with mouthguards at training. It might fire them up.
But the Dogs are better than their current 9th spot. Think they might have more fire power.
Match Selection: Western Bulldogs by 15 points
Suggested Bets: Western Bulldogs 1-39 @ $2.05
