Progressive filly Deroche looks bound for bigger assignments on the mainland later this year after beating some accomplished Victorians to win the Group 3 Vamos Stakes (1400m) at Launceston on Wednesday.

The three-year-old took her record to nine wins frm just 13 starts and atoned for a close second in Tasmania's other fillies and mares feature, the Bow Mistress Stakes.
Deroche ($1.80) had the race in her keeping a long way out when kicking clear early in the straight, scoring comfortably from Miss Mandito ($17) with Jentico ($5.50) third.
It was also the filly's second success in just four days after scoring at Mowbray last Sunday.
Winning trainer Leanne Gaffney was thrilled to land a feature win with the smart filly.
"She makes it look easy doesn't she," Gaffney said.
"And she makes the trainer and the staff and everyone around her look good."
Gaffney said Deroche had earned a break
"She's going to the paddock now, she'll have a well-deserved spell."
The win gave jockey Craig Newitt a feature double after he took out the Mowbray Stakes on Mandela Effect.
Newitt was full of praise for Deroche and said her maturity and professionalism was a huge asset.
"She amazes me. She's like an eight-year-old that's had 100 starts, she takes it all in her stride," he said.
"She was the most inexpeienced horse in the field and treated them with contempt."
Newitt belives Deroche is up to bigger assignments on the mainland.
"If she takes the same improvement that she made from a two to a three-year-old, she'll win a really nice in Melbourne, I've got no doubt."
