ROSEHILL June 14
Best Bets
RACE 5 - (2) CODETTA: Must be hard to beat if she makes the expected natural improvement from her first-up performance over this course and distance on May 31 when closing best for second in this class. She's two from two when second up and with the advantage of a 3kg claim for a talented apprentice will be meeting the May 31 winner King's Secret on 2kg better terms.
RACE 8 - (6) DON DIEGO DE VEGA: Talented import got into his work late when a strong fourth in the heavy ground behind Touristic in the Listed Lord Mayor's Cup over 2000m at this course two weeks ago when having his first start for three months. It was a positive sign he is ready to deliver on the promise he displayed in his first Australian prep and is sure to appreciate this longer trip with a 3kg weight shift in his favour.
RACE 9 – (16) MISTERKIPCHOGE: This ex-Kiwi has filled eight minor placings over distances from 1600m to 2400 since winning his first Australian start 18 months ago and this is his chance to repay those who have not lost faith him. He was left flat in the heavy when the winner Half Yours took off mid race over 1800m at this course two weeks ago but still put in late to finish fifth. He's meeting the winner 4kg better and stepping up to 2000m for the first time since he resumed in April gives him the chance to post that much needed win.

Why They Can Win….
RACE 1 - (1) REGULATED AFFAIR: Strong trial followed good race form over shorter trips. Ready for this distance.
RACE 2 - (19) SALUTE AGAIN: Deserves a win in this class. Won't get a better chance with his light weight from good barrier.
RACE 3 - (18) MOTOSCAFO: Good form lines for this company. Rates as a lightweight threat in an open race.
RACE 4 - (13) OUI OUI OUI: Progressive filly. Well placed with her weight advantage to continue her class rise.
RACE 6 - (6) LITTLE COINTREAU: Racing well without luck. Switch to a strong rider could be the key.
RACE 7 - (1) TESTATOR SILENS: Primed for this in unsuitable races. Likes this track and carries weight well.
RACE 10 - (11) SACRED ROCKS: Easy as you like first-up confirmed her early promise. Top stable has the timing right.

TRIAL POINTERS
ROSEHILL June 6: PRIVATE EYE had his fourth trial since April in his prolonged preparation for the Stradbroke Handicap after bypassing lead up races in Brisbane due to wet tracks. After easy work in previous trials he took up the running in his 900m heat and had no trouble controlling the pace to run out a soft winner in slow time (55.97; 35.06) over STARMAN, CITY OF LIGHTS and FIRESTORM, a trio who all did enough to draw attention to their chances when next produced. HORSESHOE HILL looked good winning her 900m heat, trialling for the second time since a debut third at Wyong in December. Had them well covered coming from midfield under a good hold to run past a batch of leaders and spear clear under no pressure over the last 100m for a soft win (55.16; 35.00).
RANDWICK May 30: Super consistent 4YO NEED SOME LUCK showed he has freshened nicely since his trip to the Gold Coast in early May with an impressive win his 1045m heat (64.40; 35.68). Allowed to find his rhythm in the first 400m, he started to loop the field from the 500m and surged to the line over the last 100m for a soft win with plenty in reserve. Fast black type sprinter THE INSTRUCTOR has won three of his last four starts and showed he is holding his form well with a runaway win in the fastest 1045m heat (63.10; 34.29), having too much speed for his rivals to score by almost five lengths.
WARWICK FARM May 13: In the fastest of the three 1200m heats (73.36; 35.41) ICEBREAKER, a good staying prospect, took the eye with his closing fourth. PRIVATE EYE had his second trial since December with impressive late work in his 790m heat. He finished sixth, three lengths from the winner, after Nash Rawiller rode him quietly at the rear before easing widest on the turn. It was only over the last 100m that he slipped the G1 winner some rein with his work through the line hard to miss.
WARWICK FARM April 29: Group One star PRIVATE EYE had an easy time in the heavy ground in his first trial since December. He finished fifth in a keenly run heat over 799m.
