A strong edition of the Listed Bob Charley AO Stakes headlines ten races at Randwick on Saturday, June 7th. While the rain finally appears to be letting up in Sydney, the deluge of the last fortnight remains, and the Randwick track is still registering as a Heavy (9) at publish.
With that in mind, I've kept my eye out for mudlarks again, and you can find all of my Randwick best bets below.
RACE 1 - 11AM: Precise Air Handicap (1100m)
Hidden Motive takes winning form into this contest.
The Nathan Doyle-trained gelding has been good in each of three runs back from a break but has also improved with each, culminating in an eye-catching victory in maiden company last time.
This is a slightly harder race, but he's fit and in form, and I'm expecting him to go on with it.

RACE 2 - 11:35AM: Midway Handicap (1500m)
This week's Midway race is a typically open affair and there's a case to be made for many of them, including the third-up Danish Prince.
Danish Prince has proven to be a little bit of a non-winner in his last couple of preps, but after a fair effort into fifth in BM72 company at Warwick Farm when resuming, he was only just denied at this grade at his latest.
Fitter third-up, this looks a great opportunity for him at double figures.
1 Unit E/W Danish Prince
RACE 3 - 12:10PM: Drinkwise Mile (1600m)
Miss Kim Kar takes winning form into this contest.
The Bjorn Baker-trained filly returned to action with a couple of fine performances to fill the minors at the midweeks, while she was too good for them over 1400m here at Randwick last time.
She's fit, a mile looks suitable at this point of her prep, and I can't find a reason why she won't be in the finish again.
3 Units Miss Kim Kar
RACE 4 - 12:45PM: Highway Handicap (1100m)
Another wide-open contest has materialised in this week's Highway race and Vinolass is one that appeals to me at nice odds ($10 at publish).
Vinolass hasn't been seen at the races since February, but she's hardly put a hoof wrong in winning three of five starts, and she's been particularly good on fresh legs.
She's trialled up nicely and looks a touch of overs in my opinion.
2 Units E/W Vinolass
RACE 5 - 1:20PM: The Consortium Clemenger Handicap (2000m)
Hurstville Zagreb looks well placed to bounce back at Randwick.
After recording two impressive victories at his first two career starts, Hurstville Zagreb was only just denied third up before filling the minors at his latest.
He's fit, 2000m looks to suit and he's proven on a rain-affected track.
2 Units Hurstville Zagreb
RACE 6 - 1:55PM: Asahi Super Dry Handicap (1400m)
Oh DiAMond Lil is in winning form and looks well placed again.
Oh DiAMond Lil won three of four starts leading up to a break in February, while she returned to action on Dark Jewel Classic Day at Scone for a lovely win.
She's a victor at this point of her preparation previously and I'm confident she can go on with it.
3 Units Oh DiAMond Lil
RACE 7 - 2:30PM: Sydney Roosters Partners Handicap (1600m)
Cool Jakey has been racing in strong and consistent form and looms as a key winning chance once more.
Cool Jakey hasn't missed placing at his last five appearances, winning twice and finding the line well again behind an impressive Hollywood Hero here last time out.
He's hard, a mile suits, as does the heavy going.
3 Units Cool Jakey
RACE 8 - 3:05PM: Listed Bob Charley AO Stakes (1100m)
This is a great edition of the Bob Charley AO Stakes and some genuinely good sprinters have been confirmed to step out, including Front Page.
The Group 1-performed gelding returned to action in The Galaxy back in March, taking up the running and sustaining a strong effort through the line to finish within a length second of Private Harry.
He didn't fire a shot in The Quokka over in Perth last time out, but he's been freshened, and this is a substantial drop in class.
3 Units Front Page
RACE 9 - 3:40PM: Singapore Pools Handicap (1300m)
This is another quality race with plenty of above average gallopers engaged, including the resuming Headley Grange.
Headley Grange hasn't been seen at the races since February, but he didn't finish worse than second in five starts last time in, and in races not dissimilar to this one.
He's hard the benefit of a couple of trials, he's proven on a rain-affected track and he's another that looks value at current odds ($7 at publish).
2 Units Headley Grange
RACE 10 - 4:20PM: Toyota Forklifts Handicap (1000m)
Storm The RAMparts is another last-start winner I have my eye on again at Randwick.
Having returned to action with a fine performance to only just miss behind Lulumon at Gosford fresh from a break, the Headwater gelding took improvement into a lovely effort and victory at this track and trip last time.
He's open to further improvement and has options in running from the rails.
1 Unit Storm The RAMparts
