Jane Chapple-Hyam is planning to add her unbeaten filly Kon Tiki to next Wednesday’s Coronation Stakes field at Royal Ascot.
A winner of her first two outings on the all-weather, the Peter Harris-owned three-year-old created a striking impression on her turf debut, travelling strongly in the hands of David Egan before picking up to land the Listed Sky Bet Fillies' Stakes by half a length at York's Dante meeting.
In the aftermath of her York success, trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam mooted the Group 2 Prix de Sandringham at Chantilly at the start of the month as her next port of all.
However, connections opted to bypass that assignment and will now instead head to Royal Ascot with their unbeaten daughter of Night Of Thunder, who will be supplemented to the Coronation Stakes field at a cost of £46,000.
"She's really good, she's coming here on Friday morning for a gallop and she's being supplemented then on the Saturday," explained Jane Chapple-Hyam, who was speaking after watching some of her string work on the July Course on Wednesday morning.
She added: "We looked at the Sandringham in France which was on French Derby day, it just came that fortnight too quick and she came in season, so it was a combination."
Kon Tiki isn't the only horse to be supplemented by Jane Chapple-Hyam at Royal Ascot, with Prime Art now in contention to contest the King Charles III Stakes.
The four-year-old daughter of Churchill, who was last seen finishing a nose behind Frost At Dawn in the Listed Cecil Frail Stakes at Haydock in May, enjoyed a gallop on the July Course alongside the Queen Mary-bound two-year-old Eskimo Pie.
"I was very happy with her, Billy was happy as well," said Jane Chapple-Hyam of Prime Art, who was introduced to the market at 33/1 by Paddy Power.
"She's come on a ton since finishing second in the Listed race at Haydock and I'm very happy."
