Amy Murphy enjoyed her first winner since making the permanent switch to France when Pride Of America proved too strong in the Prix Eugénie de Montijo at Fontainebleau. The talented eight-year-old, who placed second twice in Listed company in England in 2023, made all of the running under an aggressive Mickael Barzalona ride to score by a length.
Jamie Snowden has revealed that Wendigo will be given a break before returning for a novice chase campaign next season. The talented staying hurdler finished runner-up behind subsequent Turners' Novice Hurdle winner The New Lion in the Challow at Newbury over Christmas and he once again proved he was a high-class prospect when fifth Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham.
