Sam King is back with two selections on Monday…
It's pretty low-grade racing in Britain today but there do look to be a couple of decent wagers to be had.
The Gary and Josh Moore team hasn't enjoyed the most straightforward season, but they're really beginning to find their feet now, with nine winners from 37 runners over the last two weeks.
They look to have a whole host of decent chances on Monday afternoon, with Diplomatic Ash possibly the strongest of them all in the BetGoodwin Handicap Chase at Fontwell (2.37).
Soft ground was given as the reasonably behind him pulling up at Plumpton two starts ago, so it was interesting to see him overcome that when scoring on the same going description over two miles and three furlongs last time out.
He faces a slight drop in trip this time around but should seemingly appreciate the return to this surface and remains thoroughly unexposed in cheekpieces.
That was just his fifth start over fences last time and with further progress on the cards, Gary and Josh Moore's six-year-old must be a strong candidate to follow up off a 3lb higher mark.
2pt win - Diplomatic Ash
Odds - 85/40
Continuance clearly has his quirks about him having run out at the second last two starts ago, but there's no doubting his ability and it was hard not to be impressed with the round of slick jumping he produced when winning at Ludlow last time.
A winner over ten furlongs on the flat, he definitely has plenty of tactical speed over hurdles and in all truth, he never looked like being beaten from some way out when making all on his handicap debut in this sphere last month.
His 8lb rise in the weights is completely negated by the 10lb claim of Freddie Keighley, who has proven he's a more than capable pilot when given the opportunity.
The nature of Fontwell's tight turns shouldn't pose any issues and if un pestered out in front from an early stage, he could take plenty of pegging back off what is effectively a 2lb lower mark.
1pt Win - Continuance
Odds - 2/1
