Following three down-the-field efforts in maidens and novice events, Jennie Candlish's four-year-old posted a much-improved effort when fifth on his handicap debut over course and distance two weeks ago.

He stayed on strongly from off the pace on that occasion, leaving the impression that there should be further progress on the cards with that run under his belt.

The booking of top-class rider Rossa Ryan is another plus and with a good draw to work from in stall two, he gets a confident vote to get off the mark on his first start at claiming level.

Earlier on the card, City Cyclone could be up to completing the hat-trick in the Extra Winnings With BetUK Acca Club Handicap at 7.30.

He was strong in the betting when scoring with something to spare over seven furlongs here sixteen days ago and a 4lb rise in the weights may well underestimate him.

Now three from five at the Dunstall Park venue, City Cyclone clearly excels around here, and it's easy to believe he could have more to offer, dropping to six furlongs for the first time. Tony Carroll's charge often travels with plenty of zest, giving the impression he certainly has the speed for this sprint trip and with the stable in excellent form at present, the five-year-old son of Cityscape can land the spoils.
