None of this year's Golden Slipper field are in the running to unseat $1.7 million filly Estijaab as the most expensive yearling to win the $5 million Group 1, but a few have the chance to join her as a million-dollar winner of the sought-after event.

Three of this year's field sold for seven figures last year, all at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, including two who are members of the first Australian crop of their sire.

Wodeton is the most expensive yearling in the race, a $1.6 million buy for Coolmore out of the Segenhoe Stud draft.

He is by Wootton Bassett, who is well-established a top sire in Europe but didn't stand his first season at Coolmore Australia until 2021 and has two runners in this year's Slipper, the other being $350,000 Magic Millions buy West Of Swindon.

Wootton Bassett sits third on the first-season sire premiership table, but will shoot to the top if either of his two are successful.

Right behind Wootton Bassett is 2020 Golden Slipper winner Farnan, who has had more runners than any other freshman sire this season and has three in Saturday's race at Rosehill.

Among them is Farcited, a $1.2 million buy for Gai Waterhouse and partners out of the Bell River draft.

Farnan is also the sire of the fourth-dearest horse in the race, King Of Pop, an $800,000 Magic Millions yearling.

The other seven-figure yearling in the Slipper is Blue Diamond winner Devil Night, a son of established star Extreme Choice, who is looking to achieve the rare feat of siring the Melbourne Cup winner and Golden Slipper winner in the same season.

Devil Night was a $1.4m buy for Yulong out of the Kingstar Farm draft.

Yulong sold the least expensive horse in this year's Slipper, Within The Law – a daughter of first-season sire Lucky Vega, who sits second behind Ole Kirk on the freshman sire table – who was a $30,000 buy for Darby Racing at Inglis Classic.
