Racing and Sports will provide analysis of games in the 2025 AFL Season.
We'll endeavour to run through the form, incorporate appropriate stats and also supply a betting prediction which won't always just be who will win.
BRISBANE v GWS
Saturday 14 June @ Gabba
A couple of sides who are currently inside the Eight but coming off losses will challenge each other strongly on Saturday.
Brisbane had a real crack in Adelaide going down by under a goal and really could well have won it.
They led until midway through the last and even then had a series of behinds to end the game. It was very much like a Final and could well be repeated.
There is still that gnawing feeling that one out up front, they could be vulnerable as Daniher was such a mountain.
Match | Brisbane | GWS | Ground |
Last time they met | 15.15 [105] | 15.10 [100] | Engie |
Last 10 matches | 7 wins | 3 wins
Notes | Met in that famous Final in Sydney last year when the Lions roared home.
GWS leads the head to head 6/4 at the Gabba. |
The Giants are giving away many opportunities to be right at the pointy end come year's end and losing home games will not help. Especially so to Freo and Port and almost losing to Richmond.
The backline is usually so strong and it is not as though they are giving away big scores but the movement out of there and from the middle is not as strong.
Their bigs like Hogan need supply and when he gets it they often win. He does need help.
These two played 3 times in 2024 and GWS won the first two and quite easily. However the big one was a disaster late. Maybe their game style suits.
Making the assumption Toby Greene plays and if so tipping GWS one last time. If he's out, then Brisbane.
Match Selection: GWS by 2 points
Suggested Bets: GWS 1-39 @ $3.80
