GEELONG v GOLD COAST
Saturday 7 June @ GMHBA Stadium
You would not have thought this was going to be a really intensely followed game. Things change fast.
Geelong was just OK in Perth. Given the class difference you would have expected them to thrash West Coast. One had nothing to play for, the other plenty.
But the Eagles got to within a goal in the last quarter. The worry beads would have been out down at the Cattery.
Just flick the switch to Jeremy Cameron to keep kicking goals. They won't win a flag solely because of him but won't get near it without him.
Match | Geelong | Gold Coast | Ground |
Last time they met | 15.10 [100] | 26.8 [164] | Darwin |
Last 10 matches | 7 wins | 3 wins
Notes | That Darwin thrashing was one of only 3 times that Gold Coast has scored 100+ points in this match up.
Prior to that game, the Suns had not scored more than 73 points since 2018. |
It was a wet day on the Gold Coast last week and maybe that isn't the Suns any more.
They were outpointed by Fremantle. Full credit to the Dockers though. GC really can't be dropping those ones at home if they want to be Top 4.
Even though they were in front midway through the third, they looked gone in the last only to fight back.
Those big forwards have to fire and if not they struggle. This style of ground might actually give them more space.
That said Geelong usually wins at home (bar for GWS games). Stick with them.
Match Selection: Geelong by 18 points
Suggested Bets: Geelong 1-39 @ $2.05
