Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 13.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Goulburn, Muswellbrook, Ballarat, Gatton and Carnarvon.
GOULBURN: RACE 3 @ 1:05 PM
OFFENBACH (10) wasn't too far away in Stakes grade before the spell and he resumed as favourite at Newcastle, beaten 1.7L on a heavy track. He finished well back at Hawkesbury following (vet cleared) and prepared to forgive. Has a key gear switch, and the speed-bred gelding can get back on track. CLOUD OF DUST (2) may not have appreciated the going at Warwick Farm, but she missed a whisker on the Canberra poly prior. Peaks for this and Penza is reunited, replacing the 3kg apprentice. Quick improvement is anticipated. SWEET ABOUT ME (4) resumes for a local barn and will be better than the trial finish suggests. Keep her safe from the handy barrier. ANDHE'S BRAVE (8) was narrowly beaten here on debut racing forward. He's a chance with that under the saddle.
SELECTIONS: Offenbach with the race fitness.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Goulburn Computer Card.
MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 2 @ 12:45 PM
TICKLE ME PINK (8) turned the corner at first run back for second prep with a fast finishing second over 1000m at Gosford. Desperate for this distance range now and should prove too strong for these. OAKFIELD EARTH (4) much better run at her second career start when stalking the speed for an encouraging fourth over 1450m at Quirindi. Doesn't have to improve much to figure prominently. TESORINO (7) will appreciate the firmer surface after tiring late when fifth over 1400m at Taree. Inside gate helps her cause and can take a hand in the finish. RUN THE RED LIGHT (6) big jump in grade when a fading sixth over 1300m at Goulburn in the heavy (9) going. Placed here on debut and expecting a better performance.
SELECTIONS: Tickle Me Pink to get off the mark.
BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 2 @ 1:30 PM
MERCURIAL LADY (11) resumes, bringing the clearly strongest form last time in. Two runs to date have netted two minor placings in stronger maidens at Geelong & Sale behind horses who have gone on to a much higher level in town. She's won a couple of jumpouts and should land in a prominent spot from the inside gate. Really should be winning. BELLA GISELLA (7) resumes having run fifth on debut at Beaumont Newcastle. She's been given time and can be an improver for the top barn. RENEGE (4) is knocking on the door and should have a fitness edge on some rivals. DYNASTY REWARD (3) is coming along okay and just needs to settle to run out the 1200m to be in this for a long way. SELECTIONS: Mercurial Lady to win.
GATTON: RACE 3 @ 1:27 PM
WANT TO BE PROUD (1) has been knocking on the door of a maiden victory with consecutive runner-up finishes this time in and this is not an overly strong affair. Lloyd sticks in the saddle following the last couple of efforts and can go one better against this lot. RED TOFFEE (2) has placed two of four overall including a third over this track and trip on debut. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and can make his presence felt. UP THE CREEK (3) is facing the starter for the first time but has shown ability at the trials and is sure to be well-educated from the Vandyke barn. Respect any market confidence. CALL OUT (6) has been thereabouts in all five starts to date and looks to be nearing that elusive win. A must for the multiples. ONATARE (16) rounds out the selections.
SELECTIONS: Want To Be Proud to break through.
CARNARVON: RACE 5 @ 6:08 PM
IRONCLAD BOY (4) was quickly back on track beaten 1L here 13 days ago. It was a big effort, and with average luck in the run, he's the one to beat. GRECE LIGHTNING (3) came here and spiked his figures winning this grade over 1400m. Races forward and will go close holding that form. SPANISH KAT (5) led and went well over a mile at Geraldton and then didn't get into it here over 1400m. Comes back in grade over shorter again and will be better for his first outing on the surface. ARCHER COUNTY (1) drops back to a sprint on a quick backup. He mixes the form, but maps well, and his best would give him a hope.
SELECTIONS: With Ironclad Boy.
