Journalism wins the Preakness

3 minute read

Despite a bit of argy bargy at the quarter pole Journalism wasn't letting any horse get in his way.

He pushed his way out of the scrimmage and once in clear air put in a beautiful sprint finish to overtake Gosger who was in front on the rails and claim the second leg of the Triple Crown, with Sandman finishing well to take third and coming from way back in the field the UK runner Heart of Honor finished fifth, which pays quite nicely.

Not as nice however as the Trainer Bonus that Brendan Walsh picked up of $100,000!

Journalism is reported to have pulled up well despite being bumped around in the big scrimmage and there is a possibility that he will go to the Belmont and have a rematch with Sovereignty.  Heart of Honor is supposed to be going there as well and his experience of the dirt at Pimlico should help.

Should Journalism go to the Belmont and get a clear run in the race we think he could get the win.
