ROSEHILL June 6

Inside Grass; Soft 7

13 Heats – 5 x 1030m (2 Open; 1 Maiden; 2 2YO); 8 x 900m (1 Open; 4 2YO; 1 3YO; 2 Maiden)

PRIVATE EYE had his fourth trial since April in his prolonged preparation for the Stradbroke Handicap after bypassing lead up races in Brisbane due to wet tracks.

After easy work in previous trials he took up the running in his 900m heat and had no trouble controlling the pace to run out a soft winner in slow time (55.97; 35.06) over STARMAN, CITY OF LIGHTS and FIRESTORM, a trio who could also find their way to Brisbane.

Renowned front runner IKNOWASTAR did his usual thing to win the fastest of the five 1030m heats by an easy 6.5 lengths (62.32; 34.66). He'll improve on his first-up performance in Brisbane with his extra fitness.

The fastest 900m heat was won by the unraced Zoustar filly PYROLYSIS (54.11; 34.75. She improved on her first trial but was under pressure with other 2YO heat winners making a deeper impression.

HORSESHOE HILL (Bjorn Baker): A stablemate of PYROLOSIS looked good winning her 900m heat, trialling for the second time since a debut third at Wyong in December. Had them well covered coming from midfield under a good hold to run past a batch of leaders and spear clear under no pressure over the last 100m for a soft win (55.16; 35.00).

ITINERARY (Chris Waller): An unraced 3YO by Toronado has improved with each trial, looking ready for a bold debut after a strong win his 1030m maiden heat (63.35; 35.95). Led at his leisure and making a good impression with his bold galloping action.

STRAIGHT SETS (Annabel & Rob Archibald): This 2YO filly by Prague remains unbeaten after two trials, following up her debut win at Warwick Farm on May 26 with another professional display to dominate her 1030m heat (63.73; 36.21) and win with plenty in reserve.

VINCETTO (Greg Hickman): Unraced Astern filly won her second trial at Warwick Farm on May 26 and went better this time with a classy win in her 900m heat (55.39; 35.11). Led under a hold and responded easily to open up a clear lead between the 300m and 200m before Tommy Berry allowed her to coast to the line a couple of lengths clear of the chasers.
