Racing at Geelong on Wednesday and we’ve found two horses to add to your Racing And Sports blackbook heading into the Spring.

Geelong Race 2- What You Need

A fairly obvious one here but clearly the win of the day at Geelong from new season three-year-old who was heavily backed off some stylish jumpouts and never looked like losing, leading throughout for a dominant four length win. A rating of 93 with Timeform on debut is very solid and the R&S speed figure was good too. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr  team appear to have unearthed another good one and it'll be no shock to see him go straight to Saturday grade and win again on his way to some of the early 3yo group races.

Geelong Race 4- Lavish Thinker

The overall time and ratings don't stack up quite as well for this three-year-old compared to What You Need, with a figure of 90 and an inferior speed figure, but there's no doubt in my mind Lavish Thinker has more to offer. A big, athletic looking son of So You Think, he was clearly in need of more ground, under the whip early and racing a bit greenly as well. Once he did pick up, his last 200m was very good, charging through the line to just miss. To put the performance into context, Cadazio turned heads with an impressive maiden win rated 89 and plummeted into $13 for the VRC Derby. Lavish Thinker bettered that rating and is currently $81 in a pre-noms market. Not the worst futures play.
